OneBloom Photography // Graphic Design?
Friday, July 4, 2008
It is part of what got me started with photography.
I like it because of the ability to create and change anything you want - - and the ability to make mistakes as you go.
It is the process of creating something from nothing, literally starting with a blank canvas and using your imagination to make it evolve.
Here is a piece I did with my OneBloom Photography logo.

My Website: OneBloom PhotographyFor all you other Hipsters out there...you should consider trying your hand at some graphic design...
It's a great way to show that you have a interest in your business other than just photography. By doing special projects on the side that are unique and interesting you are adding a value to your business.
For your clients, that's exactly what they want.
Enjoy guys, have a safe and fun 4th of July!

Wedding Slideshow
Here's the slideshow from the wedding I posted on Sunday. I cranked out the whole wedding in 3 business days. I love Photo Mechanic and Lightroom. I don't know what I did last year without that software. I dropped the DVD in the mail this afternoon. It's a great feeling to deliver the digital files within 4 days of the wedding. I encourage you all to invest in Lightroom and Photo Mechanic if you haven't already. You will get your life back and that's a beautiful thing.

More Actor Headshots...
Ashley and her mom Laura were one of my first clients when I moved to Las Vegas. She’s trying out for a movie in Japan and needed some new headshots. We had fun creating these in her home the other day. Don’t forget me when you become a big star Ashley!
Thanks for a fantastic photo shoot! This is the second time we needed headshots on a short notice for Ashley and you delivered with aces. You produced great results and made Ashley feel very relaxed for the shots. Plus, we didn't even have to go to a studio, it made it even easier being at our own house. -- Laura & Ashley Arnold

So I got a new 50mm 1.8 and I thought I'd test it on the most cooperatively lazy puppy.
Whatcha think?

More photos you can do at any wedding
Here's a few from yesterday's wedding. When I'm shooting weddings that are in my hometown, I'm coming home and posting a few previews that night. I do a reception slideshow with about 20-30 photos. I shoot RAW + Small JPG, so during dinner, I am able to download just the small JPGs, grab a few, throw some actions on them, and set my laptop on a little table or chair next to the bar. I set up my Mac laptop to do a screensaver from the folder of pictures. (No music) It's really quick and simple. I got the idea from David Jay when I saw him a few years back.
Before I leave the wedding, I make sure the couple knows they will be able to see them the following morning. So once I get home, I already have treated JPGs that I made at the wedding dinner. I put a little more work into them, depending on how tired I am, and post them on the blog. The couples really appreciate this.
Anyway, here are a few photos that you can do at any wedding. "Poses" you can burn into your brain for those times where it's crazy and hot and you just can't think; these are things you can do anywhere and look good on just about everyone. More on my BLOG if you're interested.

Some New Shots
Wednesday, June 25, 2008

This are shots that were for my commercial shoot that I was suppose to be having made today,
but the lady never showed nor did she call to tell me that she wasn't able to make it.
So I turned these lemons to lemonade. Tell me what you think.

Actor Headshots
Tuesday, June 24, 2008
Masami was visiting friends in Las Vegas and wanted to get some new headshots to send out to agencies when she returned to home to New York. We had a lot of fun and these are two of her favorites from the session.
It was so FUN!!! Because it was my first experience at a photo shoot, I was so nervous I couldn't speak at all. Wayne helped solve that in a matter of seconds. Once he started shooting, he made me feel comfortable and confident and I totally forgot about being out in public with all the people around. I felt like a real model. Also, he is artistic with his ability to harmoniously blend what I was wearing with the surroundings, whether it be the wall, fixtures or bamboo trees. When I saw the photos, I was impressed with the quality and professionalism he portrayed in his work. I'm glad I had my first photo shoot done by Wayne. Now I'm excited about going to the auditions and I can't wait to show my best headshot to the people sitting behind the table. I'd gladly recommend Wayne Wallace to anyone looking to have a photo done. -- Masami

Engagement Session

This past weekend we took a trip out to Galveston Island for a engagement session. I am starting to love the Houston area (especially Galveston), there are so many places to shoot, this session we really just stayed on one block. You can view more images on our news site at www.wlpnews.com , we would love to hear your feedback!
