Lensbaby for Mamiya 645AFD
Thursday, June 21, 2007

(Photo borrowed from lensbabies.com)
I know there are some Lensbaby fans out there and I know there's a few of us that still have a Mamiya! Lensbaby released a model for the Mamiya 645!!! I haven't used it, but it tempts me to break my old Mamiya and the 120 film that's been in my fridge since Phase 2 and try it. (Sorry Wayne if sharing a new product is against the rules here! I posted a photo to go with it!)

Trail Season.
Tuesday, June 12, 2007

Quick edits, colors are off, and dull. My friend Nic at Panamoka trails on Long Island. I like motion. When I got home from the trails, there was a broken squirrel in my drive way, I didn't take pictures of it, instead I petted it, and brought it to the hospital.

Recent Wedding
Sunday, June 10, 2007
Melissa and Rob were married on June 2nd, at the Hawthorne Country Club in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. They had a great day...nice and warm and no humidity. We even had a great breeze that made for some awesome photographs! This was a really fun reception, too!
I had a hardtime picking my favorites!! I got it down to 18 photos. I also created a slideshow with these and 100 more!!

I have a Port on photo.net with 800 + photos in it or my usefilm.com port
http://www.photo.net/photos/KGB4
http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/436.html
I do not have access to a studio or lights in fact i not shot with lights exeped maby a lamp sense i left hallmark. I use what ever light that I can. The mojorty of photos in there all i had was a 50 on my Pentax K1000 and a window I do now have a K100D and K10D love them both but i think my K1000 is the best. I also used a Nikon N2000 for some of the photos that a friend gave me and a D70 when I worked for a papper but there are limited few i did. I like to tell people that there are a lot of photos in my port that you can tell i am a Hallmark grad LOL. I have gotten most of the people that pose for me off the street so when you look at the photos keep in mind that they where taken with in 10 mints of meting them lol not all are that way but a lot

Introducing Myself
Thursday, June 7, 2007

I am a current student and wanted to introduce myself (finally! thanks Wayne!)! I am a career change student and proudly Canadian. I worked as a research technician for 10 years and ran a home daycare for 5 before deciding to take the risk to follow my passion. I am a proud mom of three youngins that were popular models at school this year.
My portfolio was accepted on Tuesday and after graduation, we hope to pull off a move to Calgary, Alberta, Canada where I have a job offer in a commercial studio. You can view my final portfolio on my website here.
The weekend before portfolios were due, I decided to make one more attempt at making a decent portrait of my fidgety son. The day dawned with heavy showers which made it a perfect chance to show off his new rain gear. I sent him out to the middle of a giant puddle and told him to have fun. This image became my last personal submission.

Class of 2007: Giant Photo Shoot
Hey Everyone!!
Graduation is coming up and it's our last chance to take advantage of those $25,000.00 Aptus 22 Digital backs!
I know with portfolio requirements and all, a lot of us may not have taken as many pictures of our peers that we would have liked.
Well, for who ever is interested, here's your chance to do multiple shoots and build that portfolio into something twice as strong!
The Plan:
Organize a few days where a bunch of Hallmark students come out with props, friends (additional models), changes of clothes, and camera gear. On location shooting in various places, taking advantage of the warm weather.
With any luck we will have a good turn out and that way people are not waiting around to share models. I would like to have enough people there so that everyone can get several diverse shoots using multiple Hallmark models.
It will be fun and a great way for all of us to get some amazing shots in of all our friends before we leave. The pressure is off so the shots are whatever you'd like them to be!
Location Ideas:
(Morning, Day, and/or Night)
Bridges
Water (rivers etc.)
Worn down buildings (we know there are enough of them!)
Tree Line
Butterfly Farm
Train Yard
Northampton
NYC (maybe)
Train Tracks
Old Deerfield
Play Ground
+
For whoever is interested, reply back to me with your ideas and days best for you.
You should also repost this on your myspace so that anyone not on my friends list can see it as well.
Contact ARJ@AmberRaePhotographics.com if you would like to take part or help organize this GIANT photo shoot.
We graduate in 20 days, so time is limited! Get involved asap!
Thanks!

Risky Adventures
A couple other Hallmark students and I found our way into this old run down papermill. I did the stage makeup you see in the pictures, in hope of a more dramatic "beat up, 80'd meth head" look. I will say that after looking at the tiny hole (you could only put one bookbag through at a time) I was going to have to crawl though to enter the building, they had to do quite a bit of talking me into it but, it was really worth it. (Thanks guys!!!) Obviously there was no source of power in this building so I only had an on camera flash to work with and I know with more controlled lighting these pictures could have been 10 times greater, but I'm pleased with the outcome considering. Let me know what you think and don't hold back!
